Nothing showing up?

Work the controls first. Chrome, Edge and Firefox all hide a gamepad from the page until a button is pressed or a stick moved while this tab has focus. Click the page, then move something.
Click the page, not the console. If DevTools has focus the tab does not, and the readings freeze.
Check Windows sees it. Press Win+R, run joy.cpl. If the axes do not move there, it is the adapter or its driver, not the site.
Calibrate in Windows first — joy.cpl → Properties → Settings → Calibrate. Some adapters report nonsense until they have been through that once.
Turn the transmitter on and make sure it is bound. A dongle with no transmitter talking to it enumerates fine and every channel sits dead still.
Try the other USB port, ideally straight into the machine rather than through a hub.
Some sims grab the device exclusively. Close any other RC sim, Steam, or controller utility that might be holding it.
Safari does not support this the way the others do. Use Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
